Rare Editions
Trixie Belden books are difficult to find now,
regardless of what edition you're after. However, some are incredibly rare
and only the fortunate are lucky enough to stumble across them.
This section details the rare Trixies I've managed
to find, including the foreign editions I've found.

Goldencraft Oval Library Hardbacks
Ugly Paperback
Editions
In 1971, at least three of "ugly" or plain editions
of which 16 hardback editions were published, were also published in a soft
cover format. There are varying reports of whether numbers 8-11 or only
9-11 were published in this format, but I own #10 and 11 in this edition and
haven't been able to find any others.

Book listing appears in the front of the book as "Your Trixie Belden
Library Available now with a brand -new look" and lists to sixteen, all numbered and in correct order.
The word "New" appears in brackets next to number sixteen. This
is different to the hardback edition that I own.
Goldencraft Oval
Library Hardbacks
At the same time that Golden Books published the
oval paperbacks, they also released a hardback edition of these books, known as
Goldencraft editions. These editions bear a logo on the back cover of the
book that reads "Selected Goldencraft Edition - For school and library use".
This was continued even when the 1980s square
editions were released. All of the books released in this edition were
also released as a Goldencraft book, and I even have a hard copy of The Secret
of the Mansion that has the normal oval cover, but the interior is identical to
the square edition of this book. This is very unusual!
My collection consists of books 1 to 34 in the oval
edition and 35 to 38 in the square hardback edition. It is believed that
these editions were only made available for sale to schools and libraries, and
most of my copies bear library markings. However, I did manage to find
some copies that are as new and unmarked but I'm unsure where they've been
hiding
