Cap (real name Capelton) had long brown hair tied with a leather thong at the nape of a strong neck and brown eyes. 

He is sixteen years old and has a passionate love of the wild and the great outdoors.  Hallie's nickname for him is "birdbrain" but she is fiercely proud of him although they argue in a way similar to Trixie and Mart.

Cap is quiet and unassuming and, whilst not a good student, knows all there is to know about Joe country and surviving in the wilderness.
